Mini-split heat pumps are convenient units designed to pare down your energy usage by isolating zones in the home. HVAC systems do not allow you nearly the same degree of controlled usage; mini-split systems have a compact design that makes them inherently flexible for heating and cooling individual rooms rather than cooling an entire house. Each room or zone is controlled by a dedicated thermostat, giving you the ability to condition the air within occupied spaces while not wasting electricity on making unoccupied spaces more comfortable.
Unique to the mini heat pump is its ductless operation. This means further savings through avoiding duct-loss, which can account for as much as 30 percent of your energy consumption or more, depending on where ducts are located. With up to Eight indoor air-handling units to each outdoor compressor, or condenser, they are connected by conduit requiring only a three-inch drilled hole in the wall, giving you the freedom to discreetly place the outdoor unit as far as 50-feet away.
